Best Friends Looking for a Special Home

Julie and Beauty are the typical female best friends. They love to play together, sleep together and enjoy being talked to. They have their own form of clique; ‘no cats allowed.’

Beauty is a 3-4 year old pit bull mix. She likes other dogs, especially Julie. Her favorite toy is her “thang,” a hard rubber squeak ball that she will chase and return for as long as you will throw it. Beauty has learned to ‘put it down’ when she returns it.

Julie is a 3-5 year old black lab mix. She also likes other dogs and enjoys everybody she meets, except those pesky cats. Her favorite activity is having her tummy rubbed, which she will flop down and wait for.

Beauty came to HSFM as a stray and was found at Black Beauty Ranch, an animal sanctuary in Murchison, Texas. Julie came to HSFM from Hurricane Katrina. She prefers to be around women and loves to be talked to and praised in a soft voice.

Both dogs love to be outdoors, running around and lying in the sun. Beauty and Julie need extra patience due to their exposure to abuse and being shuffled around from place to place. Both are afraid of loud noises such as thunder or yelling. But both want to please.

The perfect home for Julie and Beauty is one where they can be adopted together. There would only be dogs, hopefully a doggie door, and owners who will patiently give them additional training on the leash.

Shelters are overflowing, fosters are going on vacation, and we need your help! Please consider becoming a foster parent. We can only save as many animals as we have fosters for.
