The Mercy Fund
HSFM started the Mercy Fund to allow us to rescue animals who had extraordinary medical needs due to neglect or abuse. Shelters do not have the resources to provide the medical care these animals need, and we know they deserve a second chance. The Mercy Fund allows us to give these pets the proper medical care and get them healthy enough to go to a new home. While they may have a few extra needs, the love they return is well worth it!
Make A Donation
Your contribution of any size is so valuable! A donation of $25 could cover all the medications required. Some of our pets have medical expenses that are thousands of dollars. Please take a moment to set up a one-time or recurring donation to help these dogs and cats get the second chance they deserve!

Our Current Mercy Animals In Need
Pasty
Hello, my name is Patsy. I am a 4 year old cat that was found wandering the streets of Flower Mound and was picked up by Animal Control. I was pregnant and soon had 4 little babies. I also had Giardia which is a parasite that settles into the small intestine and causes horrible diarrhea. I was in terrible shape and had even passed the Giardia on to my kittens. Me and my little family were in such bad shape that Animal Control asked the Humane Society if they could take us into their program.
It is a lot to ask someone to take in a cat that is in poor nutritional shape, is oozing with diarrhea and has 4 kittens in the same kind of shape. But a nice lady took us all in and started working to solve our problems. I was given some medicine that I ended up having an allergic reaction to so I soon began to loose all of my hair. Believe it or not, I am a long-haired cat.
My kittens have finally been weaned and are getting stronger every day. I have finished my treatment for the Giardia but am working hard to put on some much needed weight and re-grow my hair so I can go find my new home.
The people at the Humane Society have taken such good care of me and my babies. Can you give them a donation so they can continue to take in animals that need special care?
