Patie Vaccari - Vice President of Animal Wellcare

Patie was born in Lima, Peru to a family that loved and respected animals, so she has been surrounded by pets all her life. Because of her father’s job in the diplomatic service, she also traveled and lived in many different countries growing up.  Seeing how much can be done to better the lives of animals around the world has driven her to want to help.  She went to Loyola University where she got a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Foreign Languages in the College of Arts and Science. she is fluent in Spanish, English, and proficient in reading/writing French.  Since joining HSFM in 2000, she has been responsible for all medical aspects of the animals entering the adoption program, coordinating medical procedures with fosters, adopters, and veterinarians, liaising and educating the hispanic community on animal welfare issues, and identifying the right match between pets and adopters.  And she loves it!
